GST and the NOAA Climate Data Records Program
Global Science & Technology, Inc. is proud to announce it will support the Climate Data Record (CDR) Program for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) located in Asheville, NC.
The CDR Program seeks to provide a comprehensive set of size- and time-relevant records for the detection, analysis, and prediction of climate change. The climate records created would come from remotely sensed and in situ measurements. Ultimately, the program’s goal is to help better inform the public and enable them to plan and respond to climate-related events in a more effective and timely manner.
NCDC is the world’s largest active archive of climate data. NCDC produces numerous climate publications and responds to data requests from all over the world. NCDC operates the World Data Center for Meteorology co-located at NCDC in Asheville, NC, and the World Data Center for Paleoclimatology located in Boulder, CO.
NCDC supports a three-tier national climate services support program. Program partners include: NCDC, regional climate centers, and state climatologists.
